Music in Keble College Chapel

"Very punchy, bags of atmosphere, wonderfully balanced singing" (BBC Record Review, April 2018)

The Chapel is the main focal point for College music-making throughout the year, primarily by Keble College Chapel Choir, but also in regular concerts promoted by the student-run Keble Music Society, organ recitals, and the annual Keble Early Music Festival which takes place each February. The choir consists of approximately twenty-five undergraduates and postgraduates, most of whom hold choral awards. Choral scholars read a wide variety of subjects and a small number come from other colleges.

We regularly undertake foreign tours and, since 2016, have performed in France, the Czech Republic, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Over the last six months, we have broadcast Choral Evensong twice on BBC Radio 3 and our recent CD recording of the music of William Hayes for CRD Records was described on BBC Record Review as "very punchy, bags of atmosphere, wonderfully balanced singing".

Hear the choir's recent Choral Evensong for BBC Radio 3 here, and you can listen to extracts of our new CD (below) here.
