Professor Russell Foster FRS
Sleep and Circadian Rhythm Disruption in Mental Health
Russell Foster is the Professor of Circadian Neuroscience at Oxford University. His group are credited with the discovery of a third class of photoreceptor within the vertebrate eye - photosensitive ganglion cells. These cells have proven vital in the mammalian circadian rhythm system and he has since received a number of prestigious awards for his contribution to the field, published 2 books on circadian rhythms, been elected a fellow of the Royal Society and even appeared on BBC's 'Bang Goes The Theory'. Anyone is welcome so feel free to come along.
