The Keble Debates - Geoffrey Hill Poetry Special

Thursday 17 May 2018 at 5:45 PM

The Keble Debates continues with Poetry. In this debate on Poetry, we take a look at the writings and legacy of Professor Sir Geoffrey Hill, Honorary Fellow of the College, who read English at Keble as an undergraduate and achieved a distinguished First Class degree. We are looking at Geoffrey in the context of time that he spent at Oxford as an undergraduate and later as a Professor of Poetry. We will be reading from his work and also the observations of those who knew him over his long and distinguished career.

The evening is curated by Honorary Fellow Robin Geffen (1976) and Barney Norris (2006), the distinguished playwright and novelist. Also joining us for the evening to read and discuss are Dr Sophie Ratcliffe, Associate Professor at the Faculty of English, Ell Potter (Keble 2014), graduate student at LAMDA, and Robin Soans, actor and writer.
