Boat Race Victory for Oxford and Keble Oarsmen and Oarswomen

Thursday 26 March 2015

Congratulations to Keble oarswomen and oarsmen for their wins over Cambridge this Friday and Saturday!

Sporting history was made on Saturday April 11th 2015 when The BNY Mellon Boat Race was joined on the Tideway for the first time by The Newton Women’s Boat Race.

In this the 35th anniversary of women students at Keble we are delighted that two Keble oarswomen were selected to race in the reserve crew, Osiris - Ruth Siddorn (Chemistry) and Caroline Greves (MBA) - which defeated the Cambridge crew, Blondie, on Friday.

Two Keble oarsmen represented the University in the victorious Blue Boat – Will Geffen (Chemistry) at Bow and Tom Swartz (MBA) at 4 seat.

Joshua Bugajski (MSc Oncology) and Charles Thurston (Engineering) rowed in Isis, the men’s reserve boat, which finished three lengths ahead of Cambridge.

There were also two Keble oarswomen - Danielle Edmunds (Biology) and Joanna Green (DPhil Medicine) - in the women's lighweight Blue Boat, which raced on the 5th April at Henley.
