College earns Green Impact Award

Tuesday 20 June 2017

At a ceremony held at the Sheldonian Theatre on 12th June, William James (Pro-Vice-Chancellor) and Jack Hampton (OUSU President) presented Keble College with a Silver Award for the NUS Green Impact scheme, a reward scheme promoting sustainability and social responsibility.

The award recognised activities the College has undertaken such as expanding the use of Fairtrade products, undertaking a new waste monitoring system and installing a new lawn sprinkler system that aims to minimise water loss.

Keble student Sofia Karlsson, who initiated Keble’s involvement in the scheme, received the Green Impact Student Award and Keble’s Nick French (Domestic Bursar) was highly commended for the Staff Award.
