Death of Dr Denys Potts

Wednesday 11 May 2016

The College is very sad to announce the death, at the age of 93, of Dr Denys Potts. Dr Potts was Besse Fellow and Tutor in French from 1952 to 1989, a specialist in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries and a leading expert on the life and works of the free-thinker Saint-Evremond. He presided with genial kindness over the modern languages school in College and also served as Dean, Fellow Librarian, President of the Senior Common Room and Sub-Warden. He is survived by his wife Doraine and their four children, to whom the College offers its condolences.
