Death of Revd Professor Dennis Nineham

Thursday 12 May 2016

The College is very sad to announce the death of former Warden, the Revd Professor Dennis Nineham, on Sunday 8 May. Born in 1921, Professor Nineham was a distinguished theologian who held chairs in the subject at King’s College London, the University of Cambridge, where he was Regius Professor, and then, following his Wardenship of Keble between 1969 and 1979, at the University of Bristol. He was an Honorary Fellow of the College.

His wife, Ruth, died earlier this year on 17 March. We send our deepest sympathy to the family. There will be a private family funeral and a Memorial Service will be held in the Autumn.

A Memorial Service will be held in Keble Chapel on Saturday 19 November at 2:30pm. A reception will follow in the Arco building. For catering purposes, please indicate if you are planning to attend the reception here.
