Holocaust Memorial Day Service at Keble

Monday 27 January 2014

On Sunday 26 January, Keble College offered a Service of Remembrance for Holocaust Memorial Day in the Chapel.  This well-attended service of prayer brought together Christian and Jewish communities in the College and the wider Oxford community.  The music for the service was led by Keble College Chapel Choir and OxfordShir ('shir' means song in Hebrew), the Jewish Community Choir.  The speaker for the service was Rabbi Dr Tony Bayfield, who is President of the Movement for Reform Judaism, as well as lecturer at the Leo Baeck College and a well-known public figure through newspaper pieces and radio broadcasts.  This is the seventh year this service has been offered at Keble, the longest standing Holocaust Memorial Service in an Oxford College Chapel.
