Sarah's future research plans include a study of mystical theology and radical religion in England and Scotland, 1630-1730, particularly examining the connections between Cambridge Platonist thought and Quaker spirituality. This study will provide a new perspective on the seventeenth-century religious landscape, and will interrogate both conventional distinctions between 'enthusiastic' and 'rational religion', and secularist narratives of the early Enlightenment. Sarah is also working towards publishing a book based on her doctoral thesis, a survey of nine feminist writers active between 1680 and 1710 and the theological context of their thought.
