Keble Rowers at Wallingford Regatta

Sunday 03 May 2009

On Sunday 3 May Keble raced in the Wallingford Regatta held at Dorney Lake, the rowing venue for 2012 Olympics. For 15 out of 16 of the oars people this was their first side-by-side 2000m racing and both men's and women's crews achieved results testifying to their improvement over the last two terms.

The women qualified for the Intermediate final and more importantly won the Novice Eights event, most notably beating OUWBC Development squad.

The men, missing their stroke person to a Blues exhibition race in Milan, showed that they had significantly narrowed the gap with the more elite college crews roundly beating their previously closest college opposition.

An excellent day and crews are now working hard to get faster times for Summer Eights.
