Success for Keble Rowers

Monday 27 March 2017

Congratulations to the Keble students who took part in the Cancer Research UK Boat Race on the 2nd of April and the Henley Boat Races the previous week.

There were four Keble graduates in the victorious men’s Blue Boat at the closely fought 163rd annual Boat Race. They were Matthew O'Leary (2016 MBA), Joshua Bugajski (2014 Oncology MSc), Olivier Siegelaar (2016 MBA) and James Cook (2014 MSc Engineering Science).  A report on the race is available here.

A week earlier, the Keble Women's First Eight defeated Jesus College Cambridge by 1 ½ lengths at the Inter-Collegiate Women’s race of the Henley Boat Races. The Keble Women were selected via a time trial earlier this month to race as Oxford’s fastest college for women's rowing against Cambridge's fastest college for women's rowing – a feat made even more impressive by the fact that seven of the eight crew members had only started rowing when they came to Keble.
