Professor Gesine Reinert named IMS Fellow

Gesine Reinert, Keble Professorial Fellow and Professor of Statistics, has been named Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics (IMS). An induction ceremony took place August 10, 2015 at the Joint Statistical Meetings in Seattle, Washington, USA.

Professor Reinert received the award for fundamental contributions to probability and asymptotic statistics, and for deep and important applications in the life sciences.  More information on Professor Reinert's work is available on her research page.

Created in 1935, the Institute of Mathematical Statistics is a member organization which fosters the development and dissemination of the theory and applications of statistics and probability. The IMS has 4,000 active members throughout the world. Approximately 8% of the current IMS membership has earned the status of fellowship.
