Sutton Trust physicists stay at Keble

Tuesday 31 July 2007

24 students stayed at Keble, selected by the Sutton Trust on academic grounds and with regard to their family backgrounds and lack of experience of higher education. The students took part in tutorials, lab work and lectures, and teachers included staff from the independent sector (Benendon, Marlborough and Rugby), as well as current academics, post-docs, retirees, graduate students and undergraduate helpers. A dinner for all was held at LMH, attended by Sir Peter Lampl, founder of the Sutton Trust, with support from the University and one of the the education ministers. The students who stayed in Keble were very complimentary and we hope they will consider applying to the College!
