Entered College in Michaelmas Term, 1907. A member of the 1st Association Football XI, 1907 - 1910; 1st Cricket XI, 1908. Achieved a B.A., 1910. A member of the University Contingent of the Officers' Training Corps. Commenced service prior to the outbreak of war on 4 August 1914. Second Lieutenant,  22nd Sam Browne's Cavalry (Frontier Force), British Indian Army, 1910; Lieutenant, 1912; Captain, 1916. Served in Mesopotamia. Mentioned in Despatches, 1917. Killed in action, Mesopotamia, 14 January 1917.
