Entered College in Michaelmas Term, 1899. A member of the second Torpid, 1902 (pictured) and the first Torpid, 1901. Commenced service prior to the outbreak of war on 4 August 1914. Second Lieutenant of the 1st Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment, 1901; Lieutenant, 1904; Captain, 1912 (Adjutant, 3rd Battalion). Serving in France and Belgium in 1914. Mentioned in Despatches, 1914. Missing in action, presumed killed, on 1 November 1914 at Wytschaete, 1st Battle of Ypres
