Entered College in Michaelmas Term, 1911. Science Scholar. A member of the 1st Cricket XI, 1912 - 1914 (Captain, 1914). 2nd Natural Sciences (Bot.), 1914. A member of the University Contingent of the Officers' Training Corps. Commenced service on August 15 1914. Second Lieutenant of the 3rd Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment, 1914; Lieutenant, 1915; Captain, 1918. Served in France. Awarded the M.C., 1 January 1917; D.S.O., 1918; mentioned in Despatches, 1918. Killed in action, France, 16 April 1918.
