Entered College in Michaelmas Term, 1911. A member of 1st VIII in Eights Week, 1912 - 1914; Hirst Sculls, 1912; Athletics team (President, 1913 - 1914). University Athletics team (high jump), 1914. Assistant Editor, The Clock Tower, 1912 - 1914. A member of the University Contingent of the Officers' Training Corps. 3rd History and B.A., 1914. Commenced service on 3 October 1914. Second Lieutenant., 2nd Battalion, attached 3rd Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers, 1914; Lieutenant, 3rd Battalion, 1915; attached 2nd Battalion Durham Light Infantry, 1918. Served in France and Belgium. Killed in action, France, 13 April 1918.
