Entered College in Michaelmas Term, 1902. Classical Exhibitioner. A member of the 1st Rugby Football XV, 1902 - 1903. 2nd Class. Mods., 1904; 3rd Literae Humaniores and B.A., 1906. Eastern Cadetship, 1906. Cadet, Ceylon C.S., 1906; Assistant to Government Agent, North Province, 1908; Mullaitivu, 1910; Additional Police Magistrate and Municipal Magistrate, Colombo, 1910 and 1911; acting Police Magistrate, Kalutara, 1911; Assistant Government Agent, Mullaitivu, 1913; District Judge, Ratnapura, 1915. Commenced service in November 1917. Rifleman of the 16th Battalion, London Regiment (Queen's Westminster Rifles), 1917. Served in France and Belgium. Killed in action, Croisilles, Hindenburg Line, 28 August 1918.
