Mr Asif Hameed

Stipendiary Lecturer in Jurisprudence

Welcome

Welcome to my page. I'm a Lecturer in Law at Keble College.

I give tutorials in several papers for Keble. I teach Constitutional Law for Law Moderations and the Final Honour School. I also teach Jurisprudence (legal philosophy) and EU Law, both for the Final Honour School.

Research Interests

I'm presently reading for a D.Phil in Law at Wadham College, Oxford. This research is a mix of legal philosophy and public international law. It seeks to understand the varying ways in which laws come into conflict with each other. It then applies this understanding to a group of important but mysterious rules in international law ('peremptory norms') which take effect in conflict-situations with other rules of international law.

I'm also one of the convenors of the Jurisprudence Discussion Group at Oxford. Here, academics and students present original work in legal philosophy. Further details are available at www.oxford-jdg.net.
