The Reverend Jenn Strawbridge
Chaplain
Welcome
As the Chaplain of the College, I am responsible for the day to day life of the Chapel, conducting daily services during Full Term, teaching, and organising various Chapel activities. The Chapel is open to all for a visit, as well as a quiet space for personal prayer and meditation. All are welcome to join us for our services and other offerings such as retreats, lectures, dinners, and outreach activities in the wider Oxford community.
In addition to Chapel responsibilities, I am a part of the Advowson's Committee at Keble which oversees the Chapel and represents the College in its patronage to 67 parishes around the country. But perhaps more importantly, I am a part of the welfare team at Keble and am always happy to speak in confidence with any member of College (regardless of religious affiliation) concerning any matter. My study is off Liddon Quad (Liddon 10, Room 2901) above the Porter's Lodge and I have a good supply of tea, coffee, and chocolate.
Before coming to Keble, I served as Associate Rector for 5 years at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Arlington, Virginia and as curate at Christ Church Episcopal in New Haven, Connecticut. I trained for ordination at Yale University and Berkeley Divinity School (Yale) in New Haven, Connecticut and also hold a MSt in Theology from Oxford (Keble 2001).
Research Interests
My academic interests are in New Testament Theology and Patristic Studies. I am currently working on a DPhil in New Testament and Classics, focusing on the use of the Pauline epistles in early Christian formation and pedagogy.
