Robin Geffen Career Development Fellowship in English
Job Description
Applications are invited for a Career Development Fellowship in English at Keble College, Oxford, tenable from 1 October 2012. This is a fixed-term 4-year position. The College is seeking to employ an outstanding researcher with research interests (and teaching abilities) within twentieth-century literature. An ability to teach Victorian and/or American literature would also be an advantage.
This post is intended for an individual in the relatively early stages of their academic career. The successful applicant will be expected to have a doctorate in English, and to use the period of the Fellowship to begin building an international research profile. They would also develop their teaching experience by offering up to six hours per week teaching for the College in term time. Career Development Fellows are expected to participate fully in the administration, admissions, and similar duties, of their subject, and to play a key role in facilitating interdisciplinary activities and links within the broad research area to which they belong.
The stipend of the Fellow will be on the University’s Academic Scale, Grade 6, currently starting at £25,571 per annum, along with other benefits including research support allowance and college dining rights.
