2020 Funding needs

Academic Funding

An initial investment of £15 million would enable us to achieve our academic priorities;

    • To increase endowment funding for eight new research fellows to stimulate the work of our research clusters. £1million per post.
    • To establish a scheme for visiting world-leading thinkers from academia, business, government and industry. £3 million will fund five visitor places annually.
    • Increase funding for undergraduate bursaries and graduate scholarships. We aim to raise £4 million to provide an annual income requirement of £100,000.

New Development Funding

The transformation of the Acland site will cost £45 million.

When completed the facilities will generate an annual net cash flow of some £750,000 which would have the same benefit to the College as an additional endowment of £27 million - the size of the College’s current endowment.

Thus completion of the project will make it possible not only to house the Keble Advanced Studies Centre but to fund, from annual cash flow, an expansion of the posts associated with it. Once established the project will be self-sustaining.

Progress to January 2012

Although still in pre-launch phase, fundraising for Keble’s Vision for 2020 has already attracted substantial support. The fund total now stands at £8.66 million.

This graph shows the progress since we began fundraising in May 2009.

Campaign Income

During the first two years, we have established a platform of enabling gifts. Through these gifts, we are able to develop the detail designs to a point of readiness.

Gifts in support of the Academic Fund have enabled us to appoint and fund:

    • Research Fellows actively participating in the clusters
    • The interim Director of the Advanced Studies Centre, Professor Tom Higham

Our Campaign Board, led by Chairman George Robinson (1975) and Vice-Chairman Robin Geffen (1976) are dedicated to helping us in sourcing the essential transformational level gifts which will make our Vision a reality by 2020.
