Our series of Keble Entrepreneurs’ Evenings continues with this Michaelmas Term event, hosted by Penny Newman (1979) and Richard Miskella (1992):

•  Timur Kamalov (2022, MMPM)

Having transitioned from the public and non-commercial sectors into entrepreneurship, Timur launched Teplo Store, which reached $1m in sales in its second year through organic growth and without external investment. Teplo supports independent designers in Uzbekistan through pop-up markets, festivals and a permanent concept store. Teplo contributes to the preservation of cultural heritage by incorporating traditional craftmanship into contemporary fashion. Timur is eager to share his entrepreneurial journey, building processes early and the role of independent designers in the creative economy and national development.

•  Mark Stockdale (1978, PPE)

After 35 years in equity research at investment banks, Mark turned to Angel investing in start-ups focused on the environment, waste reduction and carbon capture. He is chairman of Cloud Cycle (reducing concrete waste, water use and C02 production), former Chairman but now senior NED at Origen (patented lime production and direct C02 capture) and advisor to Enertechnos (patented technology for high-efficiency power transmission). Mark has seen first-hand the focus, dedication and rapid learning required of entrepreneurs, along with the determination needed to secure funding. He now draws on his experience and contacts in finance, governance and fundraising to mentor start-ups/entrepreneurs and to ensure their boards uphold high ethical, governance and accounting standards.

•  Udai Dhamija (2021, MMPM)

Udai is the founder and CEO of Oxbridge AI X, a pioneering grassroots acceleration community empowering AI entrepreneurs from the global Oxford and Cambridge ecosystem. Since December 2023, finalists from their flagship programme, the Oxbridge AI Challenge, have raised over $34 million, with start-ups from the community accepted into top accelerators including Y Combinator, StartX, Techstars, EWOR. The platform has attracted partnerships with Microsoft, Digital Realty, JP Morgan, Taylor Wessing, Stability AI, Keltie, Pioneer point and many others, supporting over 320 start ups and more than 2,000 community members through several programs and 120+ mentors. Prior to this, Udai founded the AI-driven start-up Tuki in 2017, and worked in private equity in Africa for a $200m fund focused on Med Tech, Clean Energy, Nanotech and Pure Water technologies
