At the National Theatre Rufus’s best known productions included Macbeth, London Road, Everyman, the Threepenny Opera and Small Island. Rufus’s career in the theatre began in 2001 when he entered RADA. He has also made three films including one of London Road.
Sir Rufus returns for his second visit to The Keble Debates in conversation with Robin Geffen (Keble 1976) and Honorary Fellow of Keble. Robin first met Rufus in 2013 when he sponsored The Shed at the National theatre throughout its life. Rufus directed Table which was written by his wife Tanya and was the first production put on in The Shed at the National Theatre.
Rufus will be covering his highlights and experiences before and during his time as Artistic director of the National Theatre. Rufus will also be discussing his future plans and projects.
Time is being set aside for questions from the audience and the opening question will be asked by William Ferguson (Keble 2021).
