The late Professor Vincent Gillespie always said that the first step on the academic journey after a DPhil was the most challenging. Topics for discussion will include: the journey so far by Dr Conrad Steel; the importance of Career Development Fellowships; publications so far by Dr Conrad Steel; thoughts on late 20th century poetry from World War Two onwards; the place of the late Sir Geoffrey Hill, (Keble) Honorary Fellow in that pantheon.
