Stephen Fletcher is a Tutorial Fellow at Keble, and gives tutorials on all aspects of organic chemistry, and well as undergraduate and graduate lectures in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Oxford.

He is from, and studied in, Canada and did postdoctoral research in the Netherlands and Manchester. He started his independent career as an EPSRC Career Acceleration Fellow and is now Professor of Chemistry.

His research interests are broad and stimulated by wondering what the limits of what can be achieved using organic chemistry!
His research groups specialty is involves developing new catalytic asymmetric reactions, studying their mechanisms, and applying these methods in the synthesis of target molecules like such as drugs. The group also develops complex biology-mimicking systems from simple chemicals and has the long-term goal of understanding what the difference between living and non-living matter is.
