Viktor Mayer-Schönberger is a Professorial Fellow at Keble and a Professor of Internet Governance and Regulation at the Oxford Internet Institute.

A native Austrian and serial software entrepreneur, he spent a decade on the faculty of Harvard’s Kennedy School before coming to Oxford in 2010. The author of over a hundred academic publications, he is the author of the awards-winning book “Delete – The Virtue of Forgetting in the Digital Age” (an idea later taken up by “right to be forgotten” legislation in Europe), co-author of the New York Times bestseller “Big Data” (with Kenneth Cukier) and most recently the aards-winning bestseller “Reinventing Capitalism” (with Thomas Ramge). He researchers the economic and societal consequences of the data age and advises governments, international organizations and companies on matters of the information age.
