Kazbi Soonawalla is a Senior Research Fellow in Accounting and Tutorial Fellow in Management; her particular expertise is in financial reporting.

She examines issues such as disclosure requirements under various accounting standards to understand the factors that make for greater levels of compliance. She is also interested in industry practices in relation to internal budgeting practices and control, and fair value accounting. She is currently involved with research projects on private equity, sustainability accounting, and management of cooperatives, and is interested in exploring alternative management and financial reporting tools and methodologies.

She has a BA in Economics and Mathematics from Boston University, an MS (Statistics), MA (Economics) and PhD (Business) from Stanford University.
