Marie-Louise is a Fellow by Special Election at Keble and Senior Tutor of the Middlebury-CMRS Oxford Humanities Program.

Marie-Louise is an art historian of early modern Italy, with a particular focus on Venice.  She has published widely on various aspects of the city’s visual heritage during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, including the award-winning Reforming Art in Renaissance Venice (CUP, 2025). Marie-Louise is currently working on various projects including a monograph on Tintoretto (Reaktion: Renaissance Lives Series) and two new projects tentatively entitled Spiritual Landscapes: The Baroque Garden & Devotional Imagination and Venice, Mosaic and Memory (1500-1797).
