Sarah Cohen is a Senior Lecturer in Ancient History at Keble College; she is responsible for organising ancient history teaching for students in the College, in collaboration with tutors in archaeology and history.

She teaches a range of Roman history papers from the period of the Middle Republic to the reign of Hadrian, for students at Keble and other colleges; in the past she has taught at universities in the United States and Canada. Her research focuses on the period of transition from the oligarchic republic to the autocratic principate, and particularly in the interactions between political, social and legal history during this period of rapid change. She also has a strong interest in women’s history.
